My Dad

Taken at home just after the bells at New Year, with my Pentax K100D and Pentax SMC 50mm prime. This photo really captures the essence of my dad's personality. Only light was from a small table-lamp.

Good way to hide colour casts from white balance miss matches. Black and white really suits your subject and enhances the lighting.

If you try a really tight crop that eliminates all the bright light on the chair you end up with a superb portraiy shot, full of life and , as you say, personality.

The brightest areas of an image grab our attention, so eliminating the chair entirely really makes this one zing!
