MX low battery indication

I have bought an MX second hand, without instruction, hence do not know how the camera indicates low battery condition, assuming that it does. Can any one tell me please

The LEDs don't light up

sometimes the batterys are ok, but the contact in the battery compartment lid needs scraping to provide a good contact

Whenever I buy a second hand body I always fit new batteries, and then change them every 12 months regardless. I have never had batteries fail in use.
