mv1 battery cover

It is a tricky job to do, but I might be inclined to have a go with a very, very fine metal drill. But do be careful you don't pierce the battery underneath! Once the cover is removed, I would suggest buying a replacement so it can be used normally. Perhaps a scrap camera would provide one, but do check the cost because if it is anything significant, or if the cost of drill bits and a cover starts to approach the £25 quoted, then I might be inclined to let the professionals do the job!
Best regards, John

Might it not be possible to use a tool such as a Dremel to reform the coin slot?
Die my dear doctor, that's the last thing I shall do!

Hi,
I would be temtpted to remove the bottom plate before trying a drill. If you need a new battery cover try here http://www.nanites.co.uk/Pentax%20Parts%2001.htm As Far as I am aware all the M series caps were the same apart from the MX. I will try mine tonight and get back if this is wrong.
Regards
Kim
