More on flash with a Super A

Thanks for the suggestion of a ring flash, which is one possibility.

I should really have been a bit more explicit, ie what modern flash units will work with a Super A, which independent flashes, what lead do I need for connection. Ideally, I'd like to use a small low power unit on an extended lead as I've found in the past that ring flashes and bigger normal guns are difficult to get close enough to the subject when you're working at x10 and the lens to subject distance is only 20 mm or so.

Hi again,
Any dedicated flash should be compatible with the Super A. However, if you only need low power, the AF200T or AF240FT are quite cheap on the second hand market. To use it off camera, the older way is to use the Hot Shoe Grip and a 4P synch cord B. There is a short one or a 5m version. Don't use the 4P synch cord A as this is for the LX only. I used this setup using a bellows and slide copier to good effect. The more modern equipment would be the Synch cord F 5P together with the Off Camera adapter F and a hot shoe adapter F or Fg. This is more geared to the AF cameras but works with the Super A. There is a good page on off camera flash setups here
