Fernando,
I agree.
Smart to compare it to the trusty K1000.
Go for it, Pentax!

Very nice, although it was Mike Johnston that touched my sentimental heart as no one before.

That's the one !!
There's also another one of Mike's touching Pentax lenses that will put the tears running - " it's still Pentax and Zeiss, baby, it's still like in the old days."

You're absolutely right, Lena.
Thanks to the quirky titles of the articles, it's impossible to find anything on the Luminous Landscape unless you do a search.
Here's the article you were quoting:

Does anyone know if this price drop on the DL is in effect in the UK (the press release mentions prices in dollars)?
It's kind of hard to tell as I can't find any Pentax DSLRs in the shops. I've just checked Warehouse Express & they have it for £459 body only, which is what they've had it at for a while, I think...

I think I've seen the body for £399 in a magazine advert (probably AP) but I can't remember whose advert it was.
At these sort of prices it's almost giving it away...

This means DSLRs are now the price of film cameras (remember them?).
Soon Hell will freeze, and Peter Elgar will buy one.

Hell froze over a long time ago. Here in Canada, we prefer to to call it Manitoba.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I've just looked at the weather in Churchill, Manitoba, for Sunday, and compared it to where I live. Here in London (not Ontario) the high is 9, and the low is 5. In Churchill, the high is 15, and the low is -21.
I didn't ask about the wind-chill factor, and I've cancelled my plans to visit Churchill, Manitoba.
