More garden visitors

These two visitors set about clearing up the mess the birds had left at the base of the feeder...













They were taken with the Pentax 150-450mm zoom with a Pentax 1.4 teleconverter on a Pentax KP. But to be fair they were also taken through double glazing!

First, these images made me smile, they are so sweet.

Second, I thought 'how the hell did he grab these?' Okay, okay, you explain the lens and equipment, etc., but my question remains the same. It really is about being in the right place at the right time with the right kit, isn't it?

Oh, and some wicked ability to take great pictures.

Thanks for your response. I was eating lunch when the two mice appeared outside on the patio and continued to parade themselves while I got the camera, set it up and propped it on the dining table. No sitting in damp hides for me!!!

Love rodents, only vermin because us humans have created such an environment for them to live in.

We had some that lived on the bird leavings too. No one ever bothered them and they would happily run around your feet. I got quite a few similar pictures of them. Then a cat from up the road discovered them!

Lovely little things (as long as they are outside the house). The pictures ooze cuteness .

I have to use a camera trap to see mine. They emerge after dark and raid the bird feeders. Some have even learned to flip the lid of the nut feeder to get inside - so much easier than nibbling a nut through wire mesh.

Thanks for your comments. So far they have managed to stay out of the house and survived the attention of the local cats who only come into the garden by night.

The lens combination (even with the teleconverter) is very good even through the double glazing although the latter does reduce the contrast.
