Looks to me as if you are getting the hang of this taking pictures lark Alistair. That first one really appeals to my sense of symmetry and love the 'light at the end of the tunnel' effect and soft Autumn shades

First one is good and near perfect symmetry. A fraction to te right would have put te brackets in similar places.
The second - too yellow.
The third - your steps need sweeping. Does not appeal at all.

The colours are very intense and I like the strange, mystic look of the colour in the second shot. It makes me think this is an Elven forest....
The third one has magenta/purple steps, which doesn't look right. This purple cast can happen in winter shade and the WB setting that will "normalise" it is...Shade. I've found this colour anomaly when shooting fungi against rotting tree trunks in woodland shade. It might have something to do with how the light is filtered by the leaves on the trees above.

I quite like the compositions (including the steps), but the colours seem unnatural to me.
OP - have you calibrated your monitor?

There are hardware devices (eg Pantone Huey, ColorMunki) which will do it. Windows also has an interactive calibration process that you can work through, although it's probably not as good.Don't know how to calibrate my laptop.
If you want other people to see your pictures looking the same as they look to you, it's essential to have a calibrated monitor.
Otherwise, you'll edit your pics and get them looking the way you want, and they'll look completely different to others.

I very much like the bridge; the colours, the leading lines, the symmetry. I also quite like the steps; I like the shapes and way the colours of the red steps and yellow leaves work together. The only thing I would say, is I perceive them as a just a little over processed on my screen, but that's just my taste - I prefer a more natural touch (not to say I manage to acheive that!).

The bridge shot for me, with just a toning down of the saturation. Cracking set though.

I love the Bridge Shot, it has a tremendous amount of impact for me and I wouldn't tone down the colours in this one as I think the heavy saturation suits the mood of the image perfectly. I agree it's not quite central, but this is nothing that a small crop wouldn't rectify.
A also like the second image, but I do agree that the colours in both this and the third one don't look right. The third one doesn't hit the spot with me, maybe it's the colours, but I think also that the composition doesn't give my eye anywhere to wander through the image. I always like to see a sense of depth and perspective in a photograph and this one doesn't have that for me.
Thanks for posting these once again Alistair and giving us the opportunity to comment on them.

The 1st one is a cracker, the 2nd is pretty darn good to Pal. I can see what you were going for in the 3rd but it just doesn't work for me. But as the mighty Meatloaf said "..Two out of there ain't bad..."
One day you'll find, 10yrs have got behind you.
