Gary, thanks. very interested in your opinion. Is there a big difference between this and a good zoom? e.g. the 50mm end of my Tamron 17-50mm. I have the DA35 f2.4 and like it.

Well the 50mm seems a lot sharper than my old Tamron 17-50mm wide open, however I never got to use the Tamron with the k-5 mkii so this could be down to the body .

I never seemed to get any bokeh with my Tamron either. I do like the bokeh circles with the 50mm but need to test it more against my F 50mm 1.4 and decide which to keep I still my go for the DA* 55mm 1.4 and then decide...
