More AF Adapter talk

Thought I'd share my experience -

Having toiled the question around and around my head for the past few weeks I came to the conclusion that I HAD to have an SMC 1.7x AF adapter....just to see what all the fuss was about.

So as I'm sure you can all imagine when it came to purchasing one there were not many options! The $875 for the sole one on eBay was just too much for me so I had to look at other options.

It finally turned up today (10 days after ordering) although it was in the UK with 36 hours and since then HMRC have been the problem. Anyhow all in all it has cost me the Y29,900 plus £24.49 VAY and Parcel Force handling charge, so in total under £250.

Not sure if I have over paid or not, but I guess you pay what you're happy paying!

Hopefully there is someone else out there with the same burning desire that I had to own one of these, and this post might just help.

Well.....Some of the forum members have it, and get fantastic results with it.
Just remember.....All the fuzz was based on the good old film days.
Depending on which lens you attach it, the "Ugly Purple Fringing monster" could raise his nasty head

Thanks Martin - I've got some old manual bits and pieces that I was 'lucky' enough to inherit so hopefully it will be an addition to those.

Although i must admit i am looking forward to trying it with all sorts of things...!!!
