So much to see in this photo set and not easy to balance the exposure - nicely done,
Were you taking photographs at 5am, or were you the only folk staying there?
I particularly like no. 5 with the detail in the shadows not being lost to black. The scene is almost timeless, with just what appears to be a smoke detector on the ceiling telling us that this isn't an Edwardian-age photograph How many feet have travelled along that corridor over the years...

Superb. Mono really suits the period feel of the buildings and furniture .
I bet you didn't use your new DA150-450mm for these - and all done without the aid of a K3iii mono, too .

Thank you for the kind comments - it is a lovely building and we are very lucky to be able to stay there most years. The John Lewis partnership made significant contributions to the National Trust to allow them to buy the castle and grounds, and then agreed a 99 year lease that included maintenance and restoration of the property.

You'd be wrong there Steve - the Church shots and 3 of the castle interiors are with the monster Superb. Mono really suits the period feel of the buildings and furniture .

There are quite a few quiet times Nigel and although all the rooms were occupied it never felt crowded I was only up at 5am the one day, when I managed the sunrises

Hey, that's cheating! The D-FA150-450mm is meant to be used for things like wildlife, aircraft and sports (according to the Ricoh website) .You'd be wrong there Steve - the Church shots and 3 of the castle interiors are with the monster

Agree with the comments already, these have a lovely documentary feel to them, they tell a story and the kinda thing you'd see in a cafe royal zine
