Misty Canal

I stopped on the way home from work to make use of the fantastic light I pass alongside this canal every day and love the mornings when mist drifts up from the water. Taken with my new K10D and my Sigma 70-300

The first one works really well, great atmosphere and the contrast is perfect I find. I would pull down colour saturation on the bridge shadow areas just to restore better grey.

I like the last also for its bright boat colours and the lovely white mist, again a perfect contrast within the scene.

I like 1 and 3 too - the wider perspective lets the full effect of the light and the mist come through. Does no. 1 need a tiny bit of straightening? Surely the horizontal is based on the water surface in the distance, which to me looks as if it drops slightly from right to left. If you view it with grid lines, it just needs rotating a tad clockwise.

John

A pleasing set. It's nice to see some tele-zoom landscapes. No.1 does need straightening a bit. I've just been using my K10 in Wales and am sure that the sensor is out of true.
Best wishes,

Andrew
