mirror lens

Hi, could someone tell me what a mirror lens is? I have seen these on ebay and such but don't know anything about them, only ever used the basic kit lenses with my cameras, also, would these be suitable to use with my k-x? thanks.

There's the Pentax 55-300 typically £280 for the DA and £170 for the DA-L (plastic mount, no hood, no quick shift).

A remarkably good lens for the money.

After that you are into Sigma/Tamron/Tokina territory.

i can recommend the 55-300 DAL a very good lens for the money

thanks everyone, it looks like I would definately be better off looking for a 55-300mm just would have been nice to get the bit wider as well (28-300mm) but I guess you pay for that in image quality. My local camera shop has the DAL 55-300mm for £169.99 which I think is pretty good but I am going to have to save a bit longer or sell a few more paintings to get this patience, must have patience
