I have just bought a Clubman 28mm f2.8 macro & itís absolutely mint, i would think never used!!
I wanted a lens i can just wack on and go for Lightning & light painting photography & for less than £20 why would i spend any more than that!!
Image IQ seems decent enough,so iím going to take it to Bournemouth this weekend to see what it will do for me.
All hail old lenses, if you havenít got one, youíre missing out!

Clubmans are usually the same as Ensinors, Ozark, Paragon etc. Normally very sharp.

Don't thinks it's a macro lens (maybe close focus) but gets a reasonable write up at PF https://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/auto-super-paragon-pmc-28mm-f-2-8.html

Yep I've got an Ensinor 24mm in M42 Mount and it knocks spots off the Miranda and Sigma 24mm I have tried.

A bargain for under 50 quid

You must have a very special Ensinor 24mm then. They are normally quite poor in that FL(especially at the edge... I've got one ) and the Sigma along with the Tokina are the best of the 24mm's. So you must also have a very poor Sigma.

Practical Photography Nov. 1984 tested these lenses and the Super Paragon version MTF test only reached 42% in the centre. The Sigma and Tokina both scored 70-75%

My favourite film lens for many years on Pentax and Olympus cameras was the Ensinor 135mm f/2.8. Built like it was a Zeiss and much better than the Pentax and Olympus 135's. Focused superbly down to 3 feet using just one helecoid. Still got about 4 of them. One is stamped Super Ozeck (Comet Brand Name).

I'm very pleased with both the Miranda 28 and 24 "macro" lenses (marketed in several other brands too) I didn't rate the Sigma and sold it. If you want a really nifty job, get a Meyer Optik Lydith.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
