mini softbox

easy mini softbox....
glue two styrofam plates together, (to make a flying saucer like object) cut out a notch for your flash.

Note no real clean up on these, don't mind the dust and stuff.

variation on a theme:
I made another.
used one styrofoam plate, and one tinfoil pie plate (same diameter).
cut a hole in the centerof each half before assembly, and hot glued a lenshood into the center, creating a ringflash. have mounted my 360 fgz to it to create a p-ttl ringflash accessory.

Looks good. I have an observation though. Your top two pics are very dark and the lens pic has shallow DOF. Does this mean that not much light comes out of your gismo? Can you redo the lens shot and produce a totally in-focus result?

having the flash in the shot, fooled the camera meter...exposure comp +1.5would've fixed that, but since the softbox was the subject, not me I simply didn't adjust.
for macro or fill it's pretty good.
the next one with a tin pie plate extended the reach a fair bit.
I've not had time to play...but stopped down-up close should be doable.....
