Mildly Interesting Story

I was walking through the woods just recently taking wildlife photos for my personal use when I came across two men carry binoculars. As I said ‘hello’ and passed them, one of them said to the other ‘why do people carry cameras when you have two eyes? Binoculars are much better’.

My thoughts came up with so many witty comments that it actually overloaded my brain, so I never replied. Damm it!!

Well at the time I thought it was funny

Maybe your two guys were the same breed of "Birders", or perhaps they were old enough to remember being called "Twitchers" with the emphasis on Twit

I wonder what they would have said about someone carrying a scope?

A note from Bill Oddie's Little Black Bird Book

"Bird-watchers are tense, competetive, selfish, shifty, dishonest, distrusting, boorish, arrogant, pedantic, unsentimental and above all envious. OK, not all of them are all of those things, although I know several that are."

Looks like the ones you met fall into some / all of the above.

I've been a birder for years and find most are'nt like the above. I just enjoy the great outdoors and try not to let those listed above spoil my pleasure. Just enjoy
