Saw that a couple of days ago, if I didn't already have the FA* 250-600mm I would have seriously considered it.

Saying that I don't use the FA* due to the weight and I would imagine the 600mm weighs even more.

Get a Canon EF 400mm F5.6 Mike, and enjoy!
The joy of owning Gems like the 250-600mm is often tempered by something else in reality, it's great to try em though!
Not on the same scale but I once bought a Nikkor 70-180mm Macro and a 200mm F4 Macro in the same week just to try em out and then decided I didn't have the patience for it, a cheap, 50mm F2.8 wasn't for me! No I had to spend two grand to find I didn't like it
Seriously you can't go wrong with the 400! (Insert Blasphemy Icon!)
Help I feel the tyldesley Typhoon approaching

I already have the 400mm Jules, it was the second lens I bought after the MP-E65mm. Just purchased a EOS-M kit, price has gone through the floor (much like the Q did). 7D sensor in a small mirrorless metal body, that's what the original Q should have been.

Just waiting for Photokina now ... Pentax are going to announce their 100-400mm (or similar)

Hopefully.

Thought you would have, better than totin 7Kg of lens about! The Eos M is a curious little thing, isn't it?
Well the long zoom has to come eventually, though I think I may have aquired the DA* 300 and convertor before I can get one and I do not need both but we'll see Mike, I too hope...
Cheers Jules...

Well if they do announce it my Sigma 100-300mm f4, DA* 300mm f4, DA* 60-250mm f4 and possibly the Sigma 50-500mm OS will all be up for sale pretty sharpish

The EOS M is a lovely little camera, the reason it didn't do so well is because of the slow AF but tbh it's no slower than Pentax's DSLR's.
