Personally I love the SMC-FA 24-90
It's a lovely range, sharp, with superb colour rendition and bokeh - and incredibly compact and light!
It's a tough one to give up

I`m mainly into landscapes, architechture, steam trains, shipping, some portraiture. No real need for macro. Really need a lens that`s a bit faster than f5.6. Lens quality is everything. Happy to spend up to, I guess, £350.

I've seen it around second hand for around £150 - which is a bargain. Mine cost nearer £350 when new

I have K20D and K200d 18-55 kit lens, Sigma 10-20, Tamron 70-300 Macro a 35 year old 55 a 35 and a 28, I'm saving up for the Pentax 18-250 cos I'm fed up changing lenses.

At the risk of repeating what may have appeared on here before, I really would like a good quality `mid range` zoom; something like 24-80 or even better a 28-105. Pentax don`t seem to make a modern one; but what about their older autofocus lenses? Which is the best please?
