Meyer Primotar 3.5/135 - a most versatile lens.

This veteran hasn't been out for a while so I put it on my Pentax K3(ii). It makes a handy pairing that is well balanced and quite lightweight too. None of these are particularly stopped down as I like to shoot with a wide aperture. The narrowest is f5.6.

Since it is spring and blossom time, these two are no surprise - except for the wonderful separation of subject and background.

The surprise is the blackthorn giving the world "the bird" !

From the distant to the close-up, I was about 3feet away from this beautiful male Brimstone butterfly. It is worth viewing it large size as it is a truly beautiful insect.

And I thought these backlit celandines were particularly enchanting

On the other hand, this is a Meyer Optik lens so you would, perhaps, be expecting a few bokeh bubbles?
We can start with something gentle ....

and maybe finish with an OTT, against the light, study of a maple tree bursting its new buds into flower.

If you can get hold of one of these I heartily recommend acquiring one and exploring the amazing potential that is offered. All you need is a simple M42 > K mount adapter but beware .... obsessive lens buying syndrome is but a step away!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
