Metz 58 AF-1 - changing the shoe

Greetings.
I have the above flash which has a dedicated Pentax shoe fitting. Very nice too. I am wondering of the shoe fitting can be changed to another camera type, specifically Sony. The shoe assembly seems to be held in place by four screws that look tempting to remove and given that the base flashgun is available for different cameras I can't hep wondering if it's doable. Any thoughts?

You'd be better off contacting the manufacturer and asking them the question.
