MetaData in Elements

I'm using Elements 6 and when I display the properties of an image, the lens name is not displayed ie Penatx 16-45 etc. The camera name is displayed ie K10d, k20d, etc. The Pentax Photo Browser (Silkypix 3) supplied with camera does show the lens type if a Pentax lens was used . Anyone know if the properties display in Elements can be set to show Lens used.

Just checked my copy of elements 6 and the lens name is displayed correctly both in camera data 1 and in the advanced tab

It may depend on the lens you are using. The lens will be identified in the EXIF as a code. If PSE6 cannot identify these codes, it may either give the wrong lens or nothing at all.

Thanks Colin for your reply. I've looked at an image that I know was shot with the Penatx 16-45mm yet I cannot see the lens name in the metadata displayed. Any idea's on why you can see lens name and I cannot see same. As I say I'm using elements 6 so should be same as yours. Have looked at preferences and don't see anything that might explain.

There is a button to delete items did not try (its working for me) but has the program default settings been altered in any way

Thanks Colin for the screen capture above. I do not see this in my version of PSE6. Have checked and default settings appear ok.
I notice "powered by XMP " on the sceen shot. Is this an extra file generated that has the tabs and data as shown above. If I remember correctly, a much earlier version of elements made XMP files and I think that may have only happened when I had the Fuji s9600 and not sure if only when image shot in raw. Could it be I need a plugin or some other setting. If you have any other thoughts, they would be much appreciated.

Colin, just a further thought, when I said above xmp files were generagted some time back, it would have been on another PC with XP operating sys.
I'm now operating with Vista, just wonder if anything to do with different op sys.

I always found that in PSE5 it was totally hit and miss whether all the data showed or not, but PSE8 seems fine. I've noticed using Photome that data seems to get discarded when you convert from RAW to JPG and I wonder if something like that happens in PSE too.

Ps: if anyone has any further thoughts, these most welcome, in meantime might do a question to Adobe and see if they say anything.
