I like the sky, but not so sure about the distorted verticals, especially in #2

The sky is good, but quite overpowering with the contrast boost you've given it. Mind you that same contrast has resulted in a wealth of texture & detail, especially in number 2.

Terrific subject, light and sky, but I can't stand the distortion. About time I stopped hankering after wider lenses an dlive with what I've got!
That second shed is amazing. I love places like this which bear the marks of time and weather.
Tim, did you get any nice close-ups of, say the windows with their blank stare or the contrast between the vertical and horizontal planking?

The distortion is one of those Marmite things I've heard of people who hate it, and people that don't notice it. It doesn't bother me at all, my own view is that the ultra wides don't approximate human vision at all, so I don't expect objects to look like how I see them. I do sometimes correct verticals slightly, but never so they are completely parallel (if you ask me parallel verticals look even weirder than converging verticals).
Andrew I seem to take a picture of that shed/boathouse everytime I go to Mersea (we have lunch at the 'Company Shed' there a few times a year, highly recommended), unfortunately no detail shots though. I usually have a gang of friends telling me to hurry up because they are starving. I'll get some next time, they can damn well wait Here's one from last year:

Thanks Doc. I think that is probably my favourite of the three. I do like number 2 but it's not all that different from other photos I have of the same boathouse.
Yes, used flash on number 3. Originally i was going for a silhouette and took a couple of no-flash shots but the texture of the rust made me try a flash shot. I was also worried silhouette would be too hard to spell later on
