Cheers Danny.SDHC limit is 32GB, so you should be able to use a 32GB card in it.
Absolutely loving the K20D by the way, many thanks again!
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

What determines the Max. card capacity? Why does the camera not keep loading data until the memory is full?

I wouldn't risk it That's a lot of photos to lose if anything goes wrong and even if you find out that there's problems with the card before you lose anything it's a lot to pay for something that you daren't use.
I've recently had that problem with a 8GB Transcend Class 10 now I'll only use it to transfer files between computers using checksum files to make sure that there are no errors.

Barrie,
I'm not quite sure what you are driving at, but in essence the SDHC protocol can only deal with a certain amount of memory - the camera will not be able to "see" anything more than 32GB. Please realise that the camera has to pick where on the memory card to put data, so if it cannot see more than 32GB, it can only put 32GB worth of data onto the card.

It's not a question for me directly. The person who bought my K-m has asked and I wasn't sure.
As someone who has lost a card myself, I'm firmly in the "a few smaller capacity cards" camp!

Thanks, that explains it. So is 32GB the limit for all Pentax DSLR's

Yes, but it's not a Pentax limitation. Even though the theoretical maximum for SDHC is much higher, 32GB is the current limit for SDHC cards. For whatever reason they aren't trying to produce bigger ones, but have instead moved to the SDXC format for cards bigger than 32GB.

Does anyone know the maximum SD/SDHC card capacity that the K-m can use?
Apparently.
