Manufactured Landscapes

My wife and I just finished watching the documentary, Manufactured Landscapes, by Edward Burtynsky, which features his photography in industrializing China, among other places where people have made radical alterations to the environment. His images are stunning, most done with large-format cameras, but those of us with something smaller can learn from his creative vision, not to mention the moral impact of what he communicates.

I see his website (http://www.edwardburtynsky.com/) has some of the same images as the film.

"The present is the object of vision, and what I see before me at any given second is a full field of color-patches scattered just so. The configuration will never be repeated." ~ Annie Dillard
