I must admit I'm pretty happy with this one. The photo is uncropped with minimal tweaking made.

What do you guys think?

Very nice. Love the vivid colours.
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

Only pleased?

I'd be over the moon!

Catching movement, colour and depth in one shot isn't easy, but you did it.

More like you had a big cheesy grin on your face when you opened the file up on the PC

What lens did you use?

Really good - it's hard to get shots of birds in flight in my experience and this is a great one! Well done

Thanks guys I've got a few more that I was also happy with yesterday. Maybe even one that is possibly better than this. I'm undecided.

Thanks for your comments.

Re the lens. It was the "Bigma" Sigma 170-500 f4.5-6.7 A pretty good lens for birding in decent light. Next challenge I think is to get a good shot of a duck coming into land straight on towards me.

Lovely shot all round. So hard to do unless you've tried. The important bits are sharp and I like the blurred wings. Prefer the first one.

Andrew

Nice shots! I prefer the first one too, the shape of the wings is more interesting and it's got a better background.

That's stunning .

Look at the detail you have managed to catch - the one feather sticking out slightly from the brown throat, the drops of water still on the feathers and feet . You even managed to get him in mid quack so to speak

Excellent shots. Very difficult to achieve such sharpness.
