Can anyone tell me where I might buy a mains adapter for my K20D..been quoted £60 from a well known camera shop and that seems a bit steep to me...all help greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

£60 appears to be the going rate for the genuine item, but I see no reason why you should not use a generic power supply of the correct voltage, amperage, polarity and plug (other than warranty issues maybe).

And on that note, does anyone have an original to look at that would post the voltage, amperage, polarity and plug information?

Thanks

When I looked at pictures of the Pentax mains adapter, it looked to have a simple circular concentric plug, but having looked at the camera it is not, it is a non standard socket so that is going to make things more difficult.

I remember a US site listing a supplier for the plug.
Try Google.

May I ask why you require the K20D to run on a mains adapter instead of the batterys?

I don't think so - it is only good for the cameras using 4 x AA batteries, not the higher voltage Lithium-Ion ones that K10D/ K20D use

You are probably right Andy - the cells used in the K20 are 7.4V and capable of delivering a substantial burst of current.
