Wrong phrase perhaps, but they do reflect the sensibilities of their advertisers and their public. There are more Nikon and Canon users out there than there are Pentax Users.
However, to be fair, it doesn't matter what camera is used in a general article. The principles are the same.

I'm sure that's not the right term but I know what you mean. Biased may be a better adjective.
Well given Canikon outsell Pentax by quite a large margin it is hardly surprising. Perhaps Ricoh have plans to redress the balance, we hope?
Often the suggestions given as to how to improve photographs are valid for any make. Do Canon owners complain because the article used Nikon, or vice versa. Of course not. What about the Sony, Fuji etc. owners?
If you were writing the article you'd explain it in terms of your camera. What else can they do? They can only describe the process with the equipment they have. But really there isn't that much difference between any of them and suggestions for good composition would even work with a Box Brownie!
When it comes to camera reviews, the Pentax ones do get mentioned, only there aren't as many of them as all the other makes put together so it seems like that!

of course Photoplus are specifically for Canon and I think there's one for Nikon.
