I'm a little surprised you can use it on the 180 without any vignetting, I haven't tried my AF-080C flash on my 180.
The AF140C is 58mm, the same diameter as the front element of the Sigma EX 180mm Macro. Even though the 180mm has a 77mm filter thread, the glass is still only 58mm, hence no (or very little) vignetting.I'm a little surprised you can use it on the 180 without any vignetting, I haven't tried my AF-080C flash on my 180.
I attach mine using a 77-58mm step down ring and the 58mm ringflash holder.

The AF-080C is only a 49mm, a little to far to step I would suspect :
The Sigma 180 has a 72mm filter, well i'm sure mine does anyway

Unfortunately the original poster decided to delete the opening post, which has made this thread slightly odd. I would suggest that this is not a very good idea with any thread as it undermined everything that followed. :
Best regards, John

I can't see the point of it to be honest

He's gone back to the digital darkroom to take on board Clarky's advice. Soon new, high-contrast, dragonflies will be buzzing round the forum.

Cannot the forum be made so that once someone else posts below the original the option to delete is taken away?

I'm sure they can, but by removing the option to edit as well. Why is this even allowed?

Something of an own-goal for the OP, methinks.

I'm a little surprised you can use it on the 180 without any vignetting, I haven't tried my AF-080C flash on my 180. Its smaller than the macro lite at 49mm, that a big stepdown :
I took some liberties with yours, just added a little contrast.
