Well - im still milling over it.

I've found the DFA 100 for £350, the SP 90 for £320 and the Ex 105 for £303.

That DFA is starting to sound better and better...
(Also must not make sure to not post after marking Year 8 science exams - it leads to no concentration and far too many spelling mistakes to edit)

Owen, what finally swung me towards DFA 100mm f2.8 Macro was the handling and size/weight.
I'm sure the image quality between all three is very very close, all the detailed reviews that I have read and then read again seem to indicate this.
In the end I think it must come down to your preference with regard to the operation and handling (well it did for me)

I would not wait to long since the Pentax prices have gone up

They are all very good and wont regret one.
The Pentax handles probable the best.
Tamron has very nice bokeh I believe.
Sigma feels very well built.
Your choice.

Also if you sell second hand, Pentax most of the time hold his value better and since the prices have gone up now if you would sell it over a month you would hardly make any lost probable.

Owen, if you are going to get one I would agree with Stefan, do it quickly

According to Chris at SRS I just got the last one he had at the £399.00 price!

They are now the SRS website at £525.00

This is the exact reason I went for the pentax, you won't regret it.

Don't anyone tell Clarky that the new RRP for the 12-24mm is £1199, he may fall off his chair!

Plonk ouch I can get that lens for just under £500 here in Sydney, I feel for you guys

Check out this Sydney price list of Pentax gear, (just halve the Aussie prices to get the Pound Sterling equivalent.) Some of the gear is much cheaper here but some is also much more expensive.

And this retailer is one of the more expensive high street sellers.

The price here is €509 link
£440
I think they are going over the top with the price raise in the UK now...
Time to find a shop in Ireland or the Netherlands seems like a good idea now.

Chris at SRS says the new retail price in the UK for the DFA 100mm f/2.8 Macro is £699.00

However I think hardly anyone will try to charge retail..

Makes my purchase of the Sigma 105 a while ago seem an absolute steal. Jessops in Norwich closing down sale, final reduction to clear - £126. Just happened to be passing and my wife persuaded me to go in. Wasn't even looking for a macro lens at the time. Though having said that, it's rarely been off my camera since................ until today when my DA* 50-135 arrived.
