Hey all, questions about a lens again..... Sirius M42 Screw lens 135mm f2.8 macro Mint......£39.

This is what i want to buy and add to my small collection, i have ordered the adapter from srb-griturn, and want to know if this is a good one to have or not ????? There is no picture on the site, I have seen it and held it, there are no marks on it nor are there any on the optics, its clean.......

Any ideas or what ever you can think of for this will be appreciated.

P.S I have uploaded a test image i took with my new 18-55 kit lens if anyone fancies a nose at and possibly some CC and tips......

Hi

From what I've heard these lenses are not very well regarded, I believe they were/are made in Korea. I would suggest you read up a bit more on these before buying as you are in the price bracket for the Pentax M 135mm f3.5 which is a very good lens and highly regarded and from my own experience justified.

One went on Ebay a few weeks ago HERE for £9.99

For that sort of money I would take a punt to see what the macro capability was but not at £40.

Why not get a M Pentax 135 - with luck you'll get one for £40. Not macro but a nice lens. Why do you want 135 anyway it's quite long?

Personally I wouldn't bother with M42 when there are so many K mount lenses available.

Why not try and get a Vivitar 100 macro lens. I got one for £40 and I love it to bits. Great cheap but good lens. It's A as well so it only lacks auto focus.

im trading in my mz50 and 28-80 and then paying the balance, seeing as both didnt cost a penny. so far with my new lens it proves to be good, i dont need the other two mentioned and it just means lugging them around, plus i have 3 other cameras so i wont miss them.....

if it's 135mm then it will give the equivalent angle of view to a 200mm on film.

It is still a 135mm lens, but of course you know that.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help
