I have one those diffusers, similar to it anyway. it attaches with some self adhesive velcro but i haven't got around to putting it on yet.
I have been using one of those sock type ones that slip over the flash and is held there by elastic.

Yes, this one needs velcro stuck on to the flash too. In this case it means I can no longer 'zoom' the flash head in and out, but I never used that anyway - it's always either got the diffuser on it or is being bounced off something.

I don't like direct flash.

I only have 2 pentax 360s and as we know they don't swivel so maybe i need to get one of those centrons or an equivilent to use specifically for my macro stuff

Clarky - use them in Wireless mode from the K10D pop-up
Ideally you could set up a long track bar with a flash at either end and the camera in the middle.
I've done this handheld with macro shots - held the AF360 with a Stofen. It's useful because you can position the AF360 further away than the lens, and you can gain some directional light too.

That's true, I've got some nice shots where I've had the flash about 4 or 5 feet away, above and to one side. Does a fair imitation of sunlight then. But with my Centon I have to use a lead to connect it to the camera (via a hotshoe adaptor with the K10D).

BTW does the pop up flash still flash when using it in wireless mode or does it just control the off camera flash :

Either. In the custom menu you'll find an option for the built in flash to either contribute to the exposure while triggering the remotes or not, the choice is yours.
