The flight shots are pin sharp and the last two very dramatic, well done!

Thanks Peter and Rob,

It's certainly a great location even without the jets.

A great showcasing of a special location as well as the photographic skills on display! I appreciate the exposure settings info, very handy for those of us not experienced at things that move like this.

It's interesting that considering the often poor light, you still maintain relatively low ISOs .... I'm thinking that this is probably to aid the panning effects ...

Nice photos, but I really can't believe people don't know the difference between the words 'Then' and 'Than'

Thanks Nigel,

Quite often you can have good light with the aircraft coming towards you, then as it gets parallel you've got Cad East as a BG so you have to take that into account when choosing your settings.

And to make things interesting you've 20 seconds to drop the settings from a jet to a herc, I leave my settings for jets and then it's a quick ISO down and aperture up to get the shutter speed down to ideally 100 sec ish or in this case hope the panning technique hols up.

A further mono conversion from Cosford, just a smoke machine, with a couple of twin halogen lights on a tripod
