LX Focusing screens

Hey,
a quick question, are the SC-26 or SE-23 screens worth the hunt?
I currently have the stock SC-21 and SB-21 which are spilt-image and micro prism screens and find them struggling to show the in focus area.
Will different screens change something or practise makes perfect?
From lenses I shoot 43mm Limited, 50 f1.7 and I'm on a hunt for a fast portrait.
