M, K, A,, F and FA mean in refences to Pentax lenses? How would they work on my K20d.

I am sure that this has been asked before so please excuse me asking again. I tried a search without success.

Thanks

Thanks Stefan,

These are exactly what I was looking for, in nice easy to understand language.

I have filed them away future reference.

Maybe we should contact Ole Oest and Adam Oest who wrote it and ask them if we can make it into a sticky or something like that, don't know what the view from others is about this?
You can find them on pentaxforums.com I believe, that's also where I found these links.

I'll send them an Email tomorrow, let you know how it goes.
I'll also need to contact a moderator here for approval I think, however they can read this so they can let me know what they think here

What does "Crippled KAF2" mean in terms of the mount? What is crippled about it? As these are the mounts on the more modern Pentax cameras, it seems a very strange term.

Definition of "CrippledKAF / KAF2" as well as all things to do with K-Mount

This one is a bit better in explaining that http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/technology/K-mount/crippled_AF.html
It's simply misses the stop-down aperture lever, so it's less compatible with non auto aperture lenses.

I think it'd be a better idea to have a sticky thread with a link to the relevant pages of the Dimitrov site - it's an incredibly useful resource for all things Pentax, although it doesn't help with LBA as it's rather like a catalogue of lenses to keep an eye open for...

Matt you mean this one link and this link

I also find Dimitrov site very good but it's a bit of a search and he does not explain each lens series so well although very clear and I favour Ole Oest and Adam Oest because they pack a lot of info on one page... it's just a matter of taste I think
