LR3 Vs LR4

The big difference in the develop module is the fill and recovery in LR3 compared to the highlights, shadows, whites and blacks in LR4.
Hated it at first. Wouldn't go back now. Its so much better.
Other things are map module and book module, but I've never used those.

Chromatic aberration adjustment - particularly purple/green fringing. Works wonders!
Grad filters can also adjust white balance - great for multi-light sources

Not just the grad filters but adjustment brushes can now do not only colour temp and tint, but a lot other parameters that could previously only be done globally.Chromatic aberration adjustment - particularly purple/green fringing. Works wonders!

The PV2012 is much better than the PV2010. Like Blythman it took some getting used to but the quality is much better.
I also love the Map Module.
CA adjustment is automatic on/off now instead of sliders. however they've introduced fringing controls for where the auto CA doesn't work

Just a tip. LR4 uses more CPU power than LR3, so for faster usage in the develop module, apply sharpening and noise reduction LAST. Especially to avoid slow application of the adjustment brushes

I am currently working through my library of around 40,000 images from over 5 years work for a new project. SME of my images from 5 years ago which where taken with my old k100d and where really noises are looking sweet as under lr4, truly a great piece of software, pleased I didn't bin a lot of my early work

Hmmm sounds good I may need to upgrade now! Anyone know where I can get the cheapest LR 3 to 4 upgrade ?
