Not really keen on the over-processed look of these.

That first one is excellent - you missed the opportunity though!
"Certainly Mr Lotus, you can use the image. However, I would like a day out in one of the cars ..." or did you?
The one little niggle with it, and not your fault but theirs, is that the Lotus Emblem on the wheel centre is not upright - car manufacturers will normally try to ensure all of the logos are correctly aligned on all wheels and where they stand out like that one can me a detraction. I was at one location where they had 20 cars, and the technicians lifted the corner of each one and aligned the logo and valves exactly.

No, the majority of the photos, especially the PR stuff with the guests where all done by the Tog. They just used two of mine. I will be getting use of a Lotus Exige as payment, which is far better.
I offered them the normally processed version but they said no thanks.

I did notice the emblems but as i wasn't the official photographer i didn't have the guts to ask them to roll the car a bit.
The Tog was a little disappointing. I was hoping to pick up some tips. But he took a couple of shots at standing height and that was it. Job done.

Good stuff Russ, I love the deep blacks - try to print that and you'll soon run out of ink! Its great that you images appealed to the Lotus poeple, and well done for standing up and making it work for you.

Hehe. I have a queue of people wanting a ride in it. I think they'll all be disappointed though. My plan is to take it somewhere and photograph the hell out of it with some nice backdrops. Haven't worked out where yet.

BTW, that 1st one is a nice composition; and the last, for me.
Just standing there at normal height as the tog did, does seem to show him up as a bit of a novice. Probably a friend of the marketing guy

That's what i thought too. I think maybe the car bored the hell out of him because he came to life once he was doing people shots. BTW, that 1st one is a nice composition; and the last, for me.

I'd suggest somewhere in the New Forest or around Burton Bradstock for your excursion - plenty of A & B roads to throw it around and some decent scenery to be had for a backdrop.

They had a professional photographer there doing his bit. So i kept out of his way.
At the end of the day i showed the Lotus chap what i had taken and he asked if i would mind sending them to their PR chap. Was amazed when they asked permission to use my image as the lead image for their launch material....
