Sounds like he recovered OK!
Are you aware that your finger is more in focus than the bird?

we have quite a few of them around the garden and in the morning and early evenings they launch an assault on the windows to get the mites, bugs, spider eggs &c. The amount of noise from their tapping is unbelievable.

Having cats around, I picked him/her up gently and he/she started to move and the eyes opened.
A quick few pictures - but no sign of flying off. Just sat there on my finger tips for 5 minutes. Gently placed him/her on the side of a bucket, planning to make a safe place to allow recovery when it looked at me, opened the wings and flew off.
Not often you can get this close to a wild bird.
