Took a trip to the Moors Valley Country Park in Dorset today to see an exhibition of the winning and highly commended entries in the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2016 competition. The majority of the images on display were taken with Canon cameras (am I being cynical in observing that Canon is one of the competition sponsors?) with somewhat fewer taken with Nikons. I was heartened, however, to see that the winning image in the Wild Woods category was taken with a lone Pentax, K-5ii, by one Steve Palmer (is he a PU member?). There are some cracking photographs in this exhibition which is well worth seeing. There are some lovely walks, too, in the country park though, unfortunately, the post-exhibition inspiration didn't result in any of the photographs I took being worth talking about or posting.

Mike

Not far from me, I often go to Blashford lakes which are fairly near to Moors valley so I make take a wander up there next week.

Now I'm wondering why I didn't use Hampshire_Mike as my forum name

I'm actually only about a mile outside the Dorset border as well.

Wouldn't you have been Spain_Mike when you joined? Or did you go there after joining. It's a long time ago now.

It sounds an interesting exhibition, but a bit far away for me .

Thanks for the heads-up, Mike. I think I will pop in and check this exhibition, as I live in the area.

You have a better memory than I do that's for sure Gwyn, I bought the K10D from a seller in America off Pentaxforums ... Although I did still have this house so maybe I should have been called Halfwayhouse_Mike
