Hit the motor show today, and decided for a change not to go in 'paparazzi' mode, but go out of my 'comfort zone' and instead just use the K20D & 31mm Limited.

Was a really good exercise, really made us think about composition, settings etc. and it was a shock to have to zoom with our feet! Fiona was doing the same with the K10D and 50mm 1.4, and we both enjoyed it very much.

Compared to the last show I went to (Autosport International in Jan), I probably took about a 3rd of the amount of shots, with a lot more 'keepers' so I think I have been putting in some practice with the skills I have learned here, and these are some of my favourites!

Very good!

You did a better job with that white Citroen concept than I did - I got really frustrated trying to find the right angle to shoot it from and none of my photos came out quite as well as yours. Don't even get me started on the black Citroen concept under all those lights...

Did you take any shots of the sea of red that was the Alfa stand? That was another one I just really couldn't get to work - reflections were sending the metering haywire.

Thanks very much!

Quickly learned to just avoid the black cars, which was dissapointing as one of the main draws for me was the Nissan GTR, I got there joined the queue to sit in it, then just walked off! The only exception for the black cars was the Brabus stand that had a couple of Mercs done in Matte Black. They came out really well, bit of a silky look!

By the time we got to the Alfa stand it was so packed that we didn't bother, but overall the lighting was a hell of a lot better than the NEC was in January, and it was nice not using the flash gun!

Did you get any good ones of that cutaway GTR? I managed a few but again getting the right angle proved a problem for me (that and elbowing my way through the densely packed crowd).
