I have had the same program, could it be something to do with Firefox settings?

I get logged out for no good reason with Internet Explorer, too - but only sometimes (too often) rather than every time. I "keep me logged in" box ticked. Doesn't happen on other sites. There is something wrong with this one.

I'm permanently logged in and unless there's a server problem I never have to log in. Same on IE8 and Firefox.
Don't forget to make sure the "remember me on this computer" box is ticked. Also, that's very literal and if you log in from elsewhere, such as a laptop, when you come back to your own computer you will be logged out and have to log in again.
You might look to see if you have deleted the cookies or if they have been blocked by your anti-virus program.

Might it have something to do with cookies?

The fact that some people don't get problems doesn't mean there isn't anything wrong with the forum. I get logged out sometimes for no reason at my end.

We all do from time to time and there will be a reason, even if we're not aware of it. It could mean a server problem from time to time which needs us all to log in again.

For what its worth, I never have to log in (Windows XP, Outlook)

I do have to log in whenever I'm on a different machine from last time I accessed PUF. But only when I ticked the "remember me on this computer" box on the recent machine.
So for me it seems to work as intended (XP, Win7, MacOS 10.6, all with the latest (or close to) Firefox).

When you load Pentax User and login, several cookies are stored on your hard drive, two of which are from Pentax User. The others depend upon what ads are showing at the time you login plus some tracking cookies. All the time the Pentax User cookies are on your hard drive you will not need to login, if you clear them you will have to login again and the cookies will again be copied to your hard drive. This applies to any other website that requires a login. I use this software http://www.ccleaner.com/ to regularly clean various caches and the registry. It allows you to select which cookies you wish to keep. Very useful for logins!

BD, I get logged out sometimes, for no apparent reason, even when I don't clear the cookies or use a different computer. But nevermind.

Machead on Safari here too, and I have to re-login almost every day, from both my Mac and my iPhone. I do check the 'keep me logged in' box.
I posted about this a few weeks ago, clearing all my cookies fixed it then for a few days but then it started happening again.
