Logging-in problems

For the last month or so, I have experienced problems logging in automatically. Basically, I can't. Every time I visit the site I have to log in manually.

This doesn't happen with other forums I belong to, so I don't think the fault is with the browser (I recently installed a new version of Opera).

The only other possible explanation that I can think of is that I recently started using Spybot Search and Destroy, which removes tracking cookies. Does Pentaxuser use tracking cookies? If so, I think we should be told.

Any other ideas?

The forum uses cookies to keep track of when you are logged in and which threads you have read.

I used to have this problem all the time with Opera. New computer, new browser (Firefox) no more log in problems.
It was only ever with PU forum, never with any of the other forums, most of which use the same PHPBB software to run them.
Have you tried switiching skins? I found sub silver caused this more than sub red.

Thanks, Gwyn, for the suggestions. I have tried various things without success so far, but I'll persevere.

I have the same problem at home (Vista), but not at work (Windows XP). Since I'm kind of inept with a computer, I just live with that glitch. But it doesn't mean I wouldn't like to know a fix to the problem...

I'm sure these sort of problems are related to cookies being deleted by your system. No cookies, no recognition. Maybe you could adjust your cookie settings to make PU an automatically allowed site?
Best regards, John

Yes, that would be good. But how to know which cookie?

Hi,

I have also started having problems with this site. I use microsoft explorer and have the latest Norton. I have only just started having big problems, this last month getting onto the site at all. Norton has started blocking access with 'suspicious site' messages. Has someting been changed on the site?

cheers Steve.m.
