Llyn Idwal - B&W conversion

Looks good to me! Of course it's hard to judge on a monitor but there seems to be a good tonality. Have you printed it? I've scanned in dozens of B-W negatives which I remember printing back in the day, on fiber based graded paper. Ah, the smell of hypo in the morning!
Thus far I've yet to make a B-W print on my Epson R1800 which satisfies me. Metasmerism and faint color hues abound. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Maybe I should convert the laundry room into a wet darkroom and put the washer and dryer in the attached garage....

what are the differences between the r1800 and the r2400? I have the 2400 and the b+w prints are top notch. (esp with Hannamule and epson's art papers (water color/ matt / luster)
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Hi Don -
The R1800 has two black carts, matte black and photo black. As I recall, the R2400 has three, black and two lighter blacks?? I'm making some profiles for a heavy watercolor paper which might be interesting. I've also heard of using only black, and varying the darkness via dot spacing - sort of Tri-X pushed effect. Would be good for street photos, but maybe not for scenics. Ah, well....
Like your slogan!

a quick google shows the r1800 being a little more wasteful on ink, and not epsons best black and white printer....more than inferior to the 2400. I probably can't help much...
I think you may be out of luck, unless there is a newer driver, or some custom icc profiles for specific papers you can download from epson, or the paper manufacturer.
like the image though, hope you find a printing solution that does it justice.

To be honest, I love B&W photos, but this one doesn't do it for me, sorry.
It may be technically correct, ( but I'm not up on the technicalities yet ), but it doesn't seem to draw me in the way your colour ones do.

Getting there! Thanks to you guys
