Llantwit Beach

Cheeky hour to myself earlier to popped to Llantwit beach for a quick little jaunt out. Tide was incoming and the nicer compositions on the east side of the beach were under water so worked the other side instead. Not the best of weather so opted for long exposures with an emphasis with mono conversions.

All Pentax K1, D FA 24-70mm, Rollei Extremium Dark 10 stop C-PL filter.

1,7,8 and nine for me. 7 just shades 6 because of the dot on the horizon

The close-ups (5, 8, 9) work best for me Gareth, especially 5 - quite mysterious, those rocks rising out of the cloudy softness of the water.

These are very nice indeed.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Good work Gareth, well photographed. Cool processing.

Best regards
Too far from a shore.

Beautiful shots, Gareth, enhanced IMHO by the subtle colour in the images that are not monochrome.

Another nice set Gareth - Dorset_Mikes's comment nails it for me - the subtle colour shots really deliver

Thank you all, definitely a better beach than my local one. Shoots well as sunset also at low tide so I'll be heading back soon

Yes! I forgot to remove it in the one image and did in the other! It's the inlet/outlet for the power station, well, was, its being shut down now thank god. One of the worst polluting power stations in Europe!

I'd leave it in. I think it has the effect of drawing your eye into the image

All nice but the first gets my vote.

Gareth, you have expressed disappointment at the lack of autumn colours to photograph in your area this year. Well, I would do the same about the lack of coastline in West Yorkshire! Your seascapes/shoreline images are always top notch. Great stuff!

Some great potential at that spot and for me the last two are favourite, and the long exposures work really well here.
