Nice set Gary! I saw these a few days ago but was on the iPad where typing is a pain so meant to come back and comment later, and the obviously completely forgot 2 and 3 are the pick of the bunch for me, great colour in 2 and 3 was (from memory since it isn't visible here anymore ) a great conversion and the chap looked full of character.

Because of the various venues used, lighting goes from superb to non existant, with the no flash rule being strictly adhered to, it became apparent I would have to use on camera flash. I also had to get my SMC F 50mm 1.4 out for some shots, I hadn't used that for such a long time i had forgotten just how good it was. I also bumped into a fellow Pentax shooter who was working for ITV Calendar news website. He was using a K-5 with a Sigma 50-150 f/2.8, so there are more of us out there...
All shot with Tamron 17-50mm except for the one shot with the 50mm.
Here goes with the piccies....
Pigeon Detectives held a secret gig at tiny Leeds Cockpit, with no pit shooting in the swaying moshing pit was necessary, sometimes pretty scary too, but hadn't shot from the crowd for a long time & I quiet enjoyed it to be honest.
The Twilight Sad where very good & definately ones to watch, the lighting in the Leeds Met was just about non existant so the 50mm was used for this stopped down to f/2 for a little help with focussing.
Aloe Blacc is an american soul sensation, when record companies send artist over from the states & when offered the chance of a larger venue but decline it is usually so they can say so many people where locked outside & after leaving the venue it would appear to be true with over 200 people outside desperate to get in to the tiny Faversham venue.
Lighting was barely non existent with just the tiny ceiling lights & four mini stage lights half away back into the venue, so breaking the no flash rule the Metz 48 made an appearance, set to bounce with diffuser, 1/16 setting aperture f/4 for depth, shutter 1/250 & ISO 1000, was really pleased with the outcome of this one.
Finally a bit of glam with Leila Moss who is the lead singer of The Duke Spirit, looking very similar to Kate Moss she really rocks out. Metering for this was really difficult with the glittery jacket & this is a tad over exposed, when correcting in lightroom it didn't look right, so I decided to keep the overexposed look, softens her skin a little.

Hopefully next week I will be shooting Hugh Laurie the actor who is touring with his blues album next week, which should be very interesting..
