Lithium battery storage

Due to the recent purchase of a K-5, my K20D will for the time being be put into retirement. I might want to keep on to it, as a second body, or possibly sell it. It depends on how my relationship with the K-5 turns out

How does one best store the K20D lithium batteries if the camera is not in use for a longer period? Fully charged or completely flat (empty)?

I am grateful for any advice on this matter!

Best regards

There is a good article on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (which the K20D has) in Wikipedia. It agrees with the above (although some of the statements are challenged). Never store them discharged, and keep them as cool as possible, but do not freeze. There will always be some self-discharge over time.

Thank you cabstar and Martin!I think I now have enough information to store my batteries in a good way!
