The unit was set to display only full stops so it was rounding the values. I had to set the unit to the default settings which use 1/10th stops.
I will now start to test and experiment if I need to give the Minolta an offset or not to match it to the sensor of my *ist-DS.
Working with a unit like this really makes you think more about lighting and gives a better understanding on exposure settings. I have only worked with (semi)-automatic camera's and that causes you to stop thinking.
