I know the weather has gone a bit pear-shapes now, but don't the conditions produce some great skies? Lovely detail and strong colours, David.
There was a suggestion that we might return to Yorkshire next year but we'll have to see. I'd love to go as I miss visiting the area.

IMO, Number 2 is a classic. The sky is amazing and really makes the building stand out. These shots also dispel the notion held by some people that you shouldn't take landscape photos outside of dawn & dusk during the Summertime !

They are all good but the second one is my standout favourite. I love the clean white of the lighthouse against that gorgeous blue sky and terrific cloud formations.

Excellent shots. Unfortunately for my bank account, I think you may have just persuaded me that I should buy a 12-24.......

These are very enjoyable, particularly 2 & 5 for me

All up to the customary Storm standard, but like others I feel #2 has a little added zip.
I should probably look at a map occasionally before I go zig-zagging between racetracks. I'm sure I'm forever bypassing gorgeous scenery without knowing it's there...

Could equally be said #'s 1 and 4 show why you shouldn't take photos at this time.IMO, Number 2 is a classic. The sky is amazing and really makes the building stand out. #2 is superb, and I like that David has only partially corrected the verticals
Sky in #5 is more than a bit special

Hi All
Thank you for the feedback so far on this series of shots. What I find most interesting is the debate about shooting images in the middle of the day. The reality is I was on holiday with my wife and had no time to think about the shots, I had to grab them as and when I could. If I'm on my own (which hopefully I will be in the Lakes this Autumn) I take a more considered approach and try to be in the right place at the right times of the day.
Of these images I actually like number 5 the best, as the scene wasn't what you would call 'naturally photogenic' but I had a particular shot in mind as I waited near the fence. I had to wait about 10 minutes until the sun lit up the middle distance, but not the foreground. It's nice when something happens as you want it to!

David

I didn't actually correct them at all Alan as the intention was to use the distortion to lend the shot this effect.#2 is superb, and I like that David has only partially corrected the verticals

Why Alan? I'd be interested in your more detailed thoughts on this.Could equally be said #'s 1 and 4 show why you shouldn't take photos at this time
