light tent recommendation please

I'm looking for a reasonable light tent for small(ish) product shooting. About 1m cubed should do.

Any recommendations please. Ebay ones look really flimsy but I don't want one costing hundreds.

I've got enough DIY going on so I don't want advice about making one.

Thanks

Ebay light tents are fine for the work you want to do, and not flimsy at all. Wait until you try and pack it all into it's bag, it'll fight back.

I have one and it's superb. Mine came with red, black, blue, and white back cloths, just about all you need really.

Thanks, I nearly castrated myself putting a reflector back in its bag this morning.

And a reflector has only one spring loop, a light tent has 4. Don't plan on having any more children if/when you buy one.

A reflector? A colleague and I nearly destroyed an office trying to tame a Lastolite Chromakey 6x9 background.

Anyway, I noticed earlier today whilst looking for a part for my Giottos monopod that that Giottos are making light cubes, might be worth a look.

That's nothing. I have one of those big pop-up camping tents. When first deployed it launched itself across the patio and wiped out a plant stand!

I have 2 Manfrotto heads and they're perfect although I've only had one of them a week

The problem with the monopod is that the hard alloy male thread on the leg that goes into the softer alloy foot has stripped that part's thread. May well be user error. but otherwise its been very good.

Its the MM5570.

I found these instructions here to be very good. I have them printed out and kept with my ebay tent as I don't seem to use it frequent enough to remember how to do it (or perhaps I'm just getting old ).

Cheers folks. I like the look of this link (ebay or amazon)

---------------------

OK lighting, I have Ikea lamps.

option 1. daylight bulbs?
option 2. off camera flash?

The daylight bulbs would cost about the same as 2 more cheapo flashes and slave thingies to fire them.

Tent looks OK, either lighting method will work fine.

Well I went for the 80cm tent from Lencarta, seems to have the same velvet material rather than the straight nylon. Free shipping so saving £6.60 on the ebay store price £24.95 delivered.

I'll do a review once received .

They probably all come off the same production line
