Less abstract pics

Well Malcolm the first one is less abstract and has lovely clean colours but I'm not it has the compositional elements to be a successful abstract. For me there's neither a satisfying consistency nor any tension introduced by contrast of shape, colour, texture or dynamics. It has to be said my own attempts at abstract are very static but I try to get some powerful shapes in them. I have to say they also leave most people bemused (at best)!
I may as well be honest and say the dog shot leaves me cold as a subject and photograph.
But what do I know and the evidence suggests very little!

If you want feedback try www.photsig.com where you'll probably get some sensible comments made unlike some sites where you'll just meaningless ' great shot' type stuff.

There's nothing abstract about the pictures, we can see what they are quite clearly.
Abstract implies getting an idea across or a feeling from an image that suggests the subject matter, but is not the subject matter. Swirls of cream in a coffee cup that looked like birds flying could be abstract. Patterns that suggest anger, fear or other emotions could be abstract.
So no, not abstract enough to be abstract.
