95% of mine are taken within the focal length range you have covered. Plus a couple of dozen with the 55-300

I did it last July with a 28/2.8, 50/2.8 Macro, 50/1.4 & 135/2.8 - I used the 135 more often than I though I would and could have done with a wider lens for a few shots - I suspect those 2 lenses will cover 95%+ of what you want

I also did it in April last year with just an FAJ 18-35...

thanks Barrie, have contemplated the 55-300 as a purchase ,would be lot lighter than the A 70-210 f4 which has only seen the light of day for close up work so not sure i can justify it. have found out there is an old bridge and a weir just outside the town so hope i have time to have a look at them.

I live quite close to SOA and regularly go there to take photographs.
Very rarely do I seem to use anything longer than 60/70mm, so I think the lenses you mention will be AOK.
(BTW I've got a mint virtually unused non HD 55-300 should you ever wish to buy!)

Lots of gear - but not a lot of idea!

There is plenty to see, canal boats and locks, timber frame buildings of course. There are a couple of old bridges and a weir on the river beside the RSC theater. Between the theatre and the wire there used to be place where you could do brass rubbing

Make sure you do the entire riverbank walk from the theatre to the parish church. I've used a Pentax 'A' 35 105 'stack of primes' in the past to excellent effect
