The quickshift is a handy tool John especially for doing close up work

So does this mean the latest lenses are in fact suitable for use on a 35mm size sensor?johnriley wrote:

John, I believe that most of the recently introduced lenses are FF. We know that Hoya hired consultants to develop a new strategy for Pentax, this would almost certainly have included a review of the lens lineup. I may well be wrong, but it could explain why many took so long to come to market after first appearing on the roadmap. You may be right Ben, in which case my FA lenses might find new found favour. Not just maximised for the APS-C sensor!

I have heard that some are. The way to find out is put them on a film camera.
Best regards, John

I put a DA16-45mm on a programA viewfinder seemed very clear not cropped down in any way

The 18-55 crops at the corners below 24mm(ish) and we know that's a digital lens.
So the 16-45 must be designed for a full frame!
When will we see a Pentax FF body then?

I've just thought about it Hardgravity i put on the 16-45mm but because the zoom is the wrong way round there is a chance of it being at 45mm not 16mm.
I've just tried it again and stops vignetting at about 18mm(what a dipstick i am at times)
Sorry for any confusion

I shall have to try mine on the old LX then and see.

Sounds like it acts the same as the 18-55, you loose about the same percentage in the range but can still use it on a film body.

The longer lenses all work on film only the wide angle lenses give problems.

The DA 16-45 shows a little vignetting at 20mm, after that it is pretty good. Matt (matic) did some trials a couple of years back, the results were pretty good.
It might be an idea to create a thread that shows DA lens performance on 35mm. I think we can rule out the 18-55 and the 50-200 as both show significant vignetting.
The DA 200 and 300 are reworked FA lenses so, they are FF.
The DFA 50 and 100 are also FF.
Anyone with some DA* lenses care to try them on film?
Steve

I think you may be right about the 200mm, but wrong about the 300mm. The DA has fewer elements and groups than the F/FA.
